Meticulous restoration of a seven-story 1902 cast-iron landmark in Tribeca, transforming it from a derelict manufacturing building into premium creative office space. The project preserved all original cast-iron facade elements, restored original timber floors, and introduced a modern MEP infrastructure entirely concealed within the existing structure.
The Challenge
The building's cast-iron facade, while structurally sound, had sustained 120 years of weathering and required individual element-by-element assessment and targeted conservation repair without disturbing the Landmarks Preservation Commission-protected streetscape.
Our Solution
BuildCraft partnered with a specialist heritage conservation firm, deploying micro-abrasive cleaning, cast-iron patching compound, and period-matched paint systems to restore the facade to its original appearance, with all interventions fully reversible per conservation best practice.
